About the Author


Dr. Gurpreet Dhillon is a Professor and Head of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. He also holds a Guest Professorship at ISEG, University of Lisbon, Portugal. His doctoral research at the London School of Economics and Political Science, examined information systems security England. Afterwards, he extended his research to encompass other issues including risk management, economic crime, and computer-related fraud. His current research and teaching interests lie at the interface between technology and organizations, particularly managing information security in organizations and ensuring the integrity of business operations. His work has been used in large public and private sector organizations. Some aspects have also been used in drafting national security policies. 

Dr. Dhillon has published written over a dozen books and over 100 research papers in flagship journals, including Information Systems Research, Decision Sciences, Journal of Business Ethics and Journal of Management Information Systems. His work has been featured in the popular press, including the New York Times, USA Today, Business Week, and NBC News, among others. In 2018, Dr. Dhillon was honored by Örebro University, Sweden with an Honorary Doctorate Degree for his contributions to the field.
